CENTRE FOR ECONOMIC STUDIES AND PLANNING Jawaharlal Nehru University 3rd CESP-CAS Young Scholars' Seminar March 10-12, 2014 Seminar Announcement Centre for Economic Studies and Planning, Jawaharlal Nehru University is organising the 3rd Centre for Advanced Studies (CAS) Young Scholars' Seminar (YSS) to be held during March 10-12, 2014. All current research scholars and young academics are invited to submit papers for the seminar. The seminar is open for submissions in all areas of research including economic theory, political economy and applied work on the Indian or international economy. Each submitted paper will be reviewed and only selected papers will be presented in the seminar. Last date for submission of full paper (along with a 200 words abstract): February 15, 2014. The paper should be submitted in PDF and a document (.doc/.odt) format by email to cespyss@gmail.com. All outstation participants will be provided accommodation and train fare as per university rules.
The Institute for Studies in Industrial Development (ISID) is organising a one-week ‘Orientation Programme’ during 24-29 March, 2014 for the research scholars and faculty members belonging to “Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and other Marginalised Groups”. The objective of the programme is to build research capacities with a special focus on marginalised groups in India. INSTITUTE OF ECONOMIC GROWTH University of Delhi Enclave (North Campus) Delhi-110 007 Applications are invited for the one post of Research Analyst on contract in the PB-2: Rs.9,300-34,800 AGP Rs.4,600 plus usual allowances admissible from time to time for a period of one year in the FASAL Project of the Institute. The tenure may be extended depending on performance and budgetary constraints. Minimum Qualifications: The candidate should have a good academic record, with at least a second class Master’s degree in Statistics or Quantitative Economics and at least three years experience in data collection and analysis related to agriculture and rural development. A good knowledge of computer software and econometric packages like EVIEWS, STATA and SPSS is also essential. Desirable qualification: M.Phil in Agricultural Economics and publications. The Institute reserves the right not to fill up the above position, if circumstances so warrant. Currently employed candidates should apply through proper channel. Other things being equal, SC/ST/OBC candidates will be preferred.
